| China imports around 200 million tons of iron ore from Australia
According to China’s customs statistics, Australia, Brazil, Indian, South Africa and Ukraine have been the 5 major iron ore suppliers to China from January to September.
The iron ore imports from Australia reached 197 million tons which is 39.5 percent higher than the same period last year.
For Brazil, India, South Africa and Ukraine, the total amount of imported iron ore during the first three quarters this year are 102 million, 82.68 million, 26.53 million and 11.4 million tons, respectively.
By comparing with the same period of 2008, the amount iron ore from Ukraine stands out, up by 91.1 percent.
